Configuring link parameters

The following advanced link options can be configured:

Maximum receive unit

Sets the size in bytes of the maximum receive unit. The default value is 1500 bytes.

Asynch control character map

This hexadecimal value, while initially set by the local machine, may be changed during link negotiation. The default value is 0.

Magic number negotiation

Controls magic number negotiation. This is turned off by default.

Protocol field compression

Controls protocol field compression negotiation. The default value is Yes.

Address-control compression

Controls address-control field compression negotiation. The default value is Yes.
