Managing files
The directory handling operations (creating, deleting, administering
and navigating) allow you to impose a structure on your area of the
filesystem. It is the files, however, that store information like
program code, text, database records and graphics. The SCO OpenServer
system supplies a wide range of commands for managing files. The following
sections discuss some of these. Some of the more complex systems are
discussed in other chapter; see, for example,
``A quick tour of vi''
for an explanation of how to use the
vi(C)
editor.
