Configuring adapters in PCI, EISA, and MCA machines
The
Network Configuration Manager
can automatically detect
PCI, EISA, and MCA network adapters
that are installed in machines with those bus architectures.
This means that configuration parameters are read directly from
the adapter and the driver is configured automatically.
You need only confirm your selection and continue with
protocol stack configuration.
NOTE:
If you are installing an ISA adapter in a PCI,
EISA, or MCA machine, or in a multi-bus
machine with PCI, EISA, or MCA
network adapters,
the ISA adapter will not appear in the list of
adapters found in the system. You must select Configure an
adapter not in the list,
then continue configuring the adapter
as you would in an ISA machine.
See
``Configuring ISA and PCMCIA/CardBus adapters''.
You must run the
Network Configuration Manager
after installing PCI, EISA,
or MCA adapters to configure them in your system.
