NeTraverse Merge Trouble Shooting Guide
This guide is to help you identify the cause of any problems
you have using NeTraverse Merge, and hopefully solve them yourselves.

This guide is divided into specific topics, and assumes that you
have read the other relevant documetation.

Reporting problems
When reporting problems,
along with a description of the problem (please be as detailed as possible),
please supply the following configuration
information with problem reports:
- UNIX Version.
- E.g. OpenServer 5.0.6a, UnixWare 7.1.3, OpenUNIX 8.0.0
- Windows 95/98 Version.
- Win95 classic, or
- Win95 OSR2, or
- Win98 Original, or
- Win98 Second Edition
- Specific info about the UNIX system and hardware.
Provide the output of these commands:
- The command /usr/bin/X11/xdpyinfo prints out
information about the X display. Run this from an
terminal window on the display you use to run NeTraverse Merge.
- On OpenServer:
- The command /etc/hw prints out information
about the hardware and drivers your system has.
- Specific info about NeTraverse Merge.
Provide the output of these commands:
- cat /usr/merge/Version
- cat /etc/default/merge
- cat /usr/merge/dosroot/dos/version.dos
- cat /usr/merge/dosroot/wincabs/info.txt
- When reporting problems with loading the Windows CD or installing Windows
also include all the log files in the directory
"/usr/merge/log", and the
log file "$HOME/.merge/installwindows.log".
