pppattach(ADMN)
pppattach --
open a outgoing manual dialup PPP link
Syntax
pppattach attachname
Description
The pppattach command starts an outgoing manual
dialup PPP link.
pppattach passes the attachname to
the PPP daemon (see
pppd(ADMN))
through a UNIX domain socket.
pppd looks up the attachname
in the /etc/ppphosts
file and dials the remote host.
There must be a manual dialup PPP
endpoint entry in /etc/ppphosts
with its attach option set to
attachname.
If there are multiple entries with the same attachname
listed in /etc/ppphosts, pppattach uses the
first entry with the specified attachname. Other
entries with the duplicate attachname are never used.
