Arranging windows
You can place your windows in work areas:
-
according to the kind of task. Put the application you use to read
and send mail in one work area, Desktop accessories in another,
your word processor in a third, and so on.
 -
according to project. Put folders corresponding to different
projects you are working on into different work areas.
You can then move an application
such as a word processor, spreadsheet, or database,
from one work area to another when you need to use files
from different folders.
 -
name your work areas according to the role that they perform.
For example:
Accessories-
clock, calculator, and calendar

Home-
your home directory

Draw-
drawing package and picture files

Accounts-
accounting package or spreadsheet and data files

Project tools-
project management applications to perform time management
and critical path analysis

Publications-
word processing package and document files

Human resources-
resumes of staff members (perhaps using scanned photographs
for the icon image and names for icon labels)

Personal-
applications and directories for your own personal use

Games-
games and pastimes
