The Applications directory can be used for programs that you choose to install. Examples of application programs that you may want to install include spreadsheets, databases, and word processors.
In addition, after you double-click on the Applications icon, you will see the Merge icon in the Applications window. If the Merge software is installed, invoking it enables DOS and Windows applications to run directly on a SCO OpenServer system. If the Merge application is not installed, invoking it brings up a screen with installation and licensing information.
