Testing connectivity with other sites

You can send (ping) packets designed to test connectivity to other sites from your own with the Node Check Manager. Doing so enables you to automatically generate a list of connectivity problems and inform the appropriate persons if a node is unreachable.

With the Node Check Manager, you can:

Create a list of sites to ping over the IPX/SPX or TCP/IP protocol stacks.
Start and stop ping sessions.
Specify an action to take if a site does not respond to ping packets.
Generate a warning if a site does not respond to ping packets.
Alter the interval at which sites are pinged.
View the ping history of one site or of all sites in the site list.

To use the Node Check Manager, you must first configure the desired protocol stacks.
