Directory window behavior options

To change the behavior of directory windows, double-click on the Directory Behavior icon in the Preferences Editor.

You can configure the following:

Directory opening display method

if you change the way icons are displayed in a directory window from the View menu, specifies whether future directories display icons the same way (``Always inherit'') or display according to the value set in the ``Default directory display mode'' field (``Never inherit'')

Default sort order

specifies the criteria used to sort and display files

Default directory details

defines the information displayed when you select Details from the directory View menu

Default directory display mode

specifies whether icons are displayed as images or names

Directory traversal mode

determines if opening a new directory reuses the current window, or displays a new window
